As an established precision manufacturing company, Romney Motion’s already diverse customer base is expanding.
“We’re seeing new types of customers turning to Romney Motion,” says LJ Porter, Production Manager at Romney Motion. “From established aerospace companies who need tighter tolerances on their parts, to start-up original equipment manufacturers who need a shorter lead time, to machine shops who don’t have enough capacity or the right capability, we have the systems and technology in place to deliver.” Romney Motion has been serving customers throughout the Pacific Northwest in the aerospace, oil & gas, defense, medical and transportation industries for 15 years. Established in 2005 and originally in a one-car garage, Romney Motion has grown alongside many of its customers.
“The Pacific Northwest has been a great place to grow with our customers,” says Devon Romney, President at Romney Motion. “The close proximity has allowed us to simplify their supply chain and improve communication.”
Growth has led to better systems, certifications, and technology. Housed in a 5,000 square-foot facility in Post Falls, Idaho, Romney Motion is an AS9001D and ISO 9001:2015-certified machine shop with production equipment that includes:
• Five vertical 3-axis CNC milling machines
• Three horizontal 4-axis CNC milling machines
• One CNC multi-axis turning center
• Many pieces of manual support equipment
Quality inspection equipment includes a coordinate measuring machine and an optical comparator.
“We use this technology to help customers scale their business,” says Porter. “From prototype to production, they rely on Romney Motion to deliver the same high-quality parts now and when they reorder – whether that’s in six weeks or six months.”
“Quality and communication are critical components of the business and will continue to be as our customer base is growing throughout the Western US,” Romney says.
